The SPW is pleased to offer the part-time report produced by civil society regarding the country’s assessment in the UN Universal Periodic Review 2017.
The report presented here responds to the partial report presented by Brazil at the 42nd Session of the UN Human Rights Council. The document has been extensively criticized by organizations in Brazilian society.
A survey conducted by Conectas informs that only one of the 242 recommendations made in 2017 was fulfilled. Thus, the UPR collective, which brings together human rights organizations, prepared a shadow report questioning the official statements, which had the contribution of ABIA and SPW on HIV/AIDS and reproductive rights policies.
