AWID is very excited to announce the launch of the 2016 Forum Website including registration, available in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese!
The 13th AWID International Forum will be a historic global gathering of women’s rights and social justice activists and movements. A collective space to break silos and join together as we re-imagine and co-create our futures. Celebrate our gains and analyze the lessons; assess our realities; inspire and renew ourselves; and strategize across movements to strengthen solidarity and leverage our diverse, collective power.
Co-creating Feminist Futures
In May 2016, close to 2,000 participants from a broad diversity of movements and sectors will collectively strategize on how we can co-create our feminist futures utilizing our collective power for justice and rights.
Participants at the 2016 AWID forum will include a diversity of feminist movements with special attention to Brazilian women’s rights activists, to peace, economic justice, environmental, and human rights movements, among others. Traditionally underrepresented or marginalized communities will have a strong presence at the Forum including: Young feminist activists; Black and Afro-descendant women; Indigenous women; Sex workers; Women with disabilities; Trans* and Intersex activists; and migrant activists.
This is not just an event, but a process to seize the moment, disrupt oppression and advance shared visions for a just world.
