GENDER & POLITICS IN LATIN AMERICA

Within the framework of its program of Transnational Strategic Analysis, Sexuality Policy Watch (SPW) initiated a new line of work in 2018. This new project entitled Gender and Politics in Latin America included the publication of nine country case studies and two other complementary studies in Spanish, published in February 2020. In January 2021, these studies have become available in an abridged English version. In September 2019, the project launched a series of videos (with English subtitles) that synthesize the research preliminary findings and, in 2018, the project also contemplated the translation of the special issue “Habemus Gender! The Catholic Church and Gender Ideology”, published by journal Gender and Religion (2016). In 2021, SPW hosted the webinar “All Eyes on Latin America: Anti-Gender Politics Through Transnational Lenses” where the studies received comments of experts from Europe, South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and the U.S.
